My Kid Can Learn! - About Us
I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. At the age of 8, my daughter was diagnosed with a receptive and expressive language impairment. In other words - a learning disability. We have spent the last 6 years coping with this difficulty, and advocating, organizing, and planning for her education. We have had many, many nights of crying over homework (both of us!), many mornings of “I don’t want to go to school!”, and endless “I’m so stupid”.
Here you’ll find answers to many of your questions, tips and ideas to help your child right in your own home, and links to great products that your children will love.
When my daughter was first diagnosed with a learning disability I really wanted to talk with other parents that had been through it - and made it! Also, I am always looking for products that we can use at home to further help her learn and grow. In so many ways - WE HAVE MADE IT! She is now in high school, successful, confident and enjoying school. Yes, learning is still a challenge, but she is on an excellent I.E.P., has classroom accommodations that work, and we have found games and software programs that support her with her homework.
She can Learn - and your kid can learn too!!
